Now is the time to prepare and protect our communities in the face of climate change. 

Local governments are the frontline in the fight against climate change. Fairfax County must continue to be a national leader for environmental protection and preservation. 

The Board of Supervisors adopted proposed solutions under the Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan, highlighting the County’s vulnerability to climate change, especially with the potential for extreme heat, heavy precipitation and inland flooding, and severe storm and wind events. Jimmy understands that the County needs to offset new development losses of tree canopy and mitigate flooding risks caused by more frequent extreme weather events.

Jimmy will fight to make sure that the Board of Supervisors accelerates investments designed to reduce our carbon footprint, incentivize green development, and transition toward a green economy that supports generations to come.
